Axial-Load Resistance of a Novel UHPFRC Grouted SHS Tube-Sleeve Connection: Experimental, Numerical, and Theoretical Approaches

چکیده

Experimental, numerical, and theoretical analyses were conducted of the axial load resistance a novel ultrahigh-performance fiber-reinforced concrete (UHPFRC) grouted square hollow section (SHS) tube sleeve connection. The experimental study tested 10 full-scale specimens with varying shear key spacings, grout thicknesses, lengths, volume proportions steel fiber in UHPFRC. Two types failure modes observed: (1) for connection high strength part, mode was fracture inner tube; (2) lower crushing significant bond-slip between tube. To understand further transfer mechanism connection, an advanced three-dimensional (3D) nonlinear finite-element (FE) model built to simulate load–displacement behavior, state stress strain, crack development grout. Based on test FE results, new derived predict axial-load proposed considers effect shape material parameters, is applicable UHPFRC SHS different corner radii. Validation versus results showed that can provide reasonably effective accurate predictions subjected tension.

Experimental study of grouted sleeve lapping connector under tensile load

The performance of the grouted sleeve lapping connector that is used to connect reinforcement bars in a precast concrete structure is studied. A total of 63 specimens, varying in bar diameter and lap length, were tested under tensile load. The failure modes, ultimate tensile strength values and load-displacement curves of the specimens are discussed in the study. Two equations are proposed for ...

A numerical and experimental study on buckling and post-buckling of cracked plates under axial compression load

Existence of cracks in industrial structures is one of the important causes of their failure, especially when they are subjected to important axial compressive forces that might lead to buckling. Therefore, it must be considered in stress analysis and designing and loading of such structures. In this paper, the buckling and post-buckling behaviors of stainless-steel cracked plates under axial c...

Computational and Experimental Mechanical Modelling of a Composite Grouted Splice Sleeve Connector System

Owing to its controllable tolerance, simple operation and no need for welding at construction site, the composite system involving grouted cement material, steel material and ductile iron material is widely used as grouted splice sleeve (GSS) connector for connecting precast concrete structures. However, the current design recommendations for such a composite connection system do not accurately...

wuthering heights and the concept of marality/a sociological study of the novel

to discuss my point, i have collected quite a number of articles, anthologies, and books about "wuthering heights" applying various ideas and theories to this fantastic story. hence, i have come to believe that gadamer and jauss are rightful when they claim that "the individaul human mind is the center and origin of all meaning," 3 that reading literature is a reader-oriented activity, that it ...
